Intranquila yace la testa que corona porta. (Heavy rests the crown)

Come celebrate the Crowning of Prince Ariston and Prince Jochen and feel the weight of their crowns if you are crowned the Ruler for the day.

Masque of the Dark Carnation: A Day of Revelry, Mystery, and Misrule
An All Hallows Eve Celebration

Join us for an afternoon steeped in pageantry and playful misrule as we gather for The Masque of the Dark Carnation—a Spanish-inspired All Hallows event where masks are worn, secrets are kept, and fortunes may turn on the toss of a bean.

Expect intrigue, laughter, and noble sport:

Witness the Coronation of the new Royals on the big screen in the front room.

Try your hand in the Games Room (opens at 1:30pm).

Enjoy a light lunch at 2pm, followed by the traditional Bean Cake ritual—who will rise as Ruler of the Day?

Champions shall be named in Boffer, Heavy, Rapier, and Archery Tournaments, each sworn to serve our bean-born liege.

A Fighter Auction will fill the coffers, and the A&S discussion at 3:45pm invites all to explore the flavors of Spain and the spice of the New World.

We especially urge our artisans, cooks, scholars, and dreamers to enter the Arts & Sciences competition—let your craft speak under candlelight and your knowledge echo through the masque. Whether it’s a dish, a scroll, a stitch, or a tale, your offering may capture the eye of the evening’s Ruler.

As shadows lengthen:

  • The Feasting Hall opens at 6pm with a masked procession of fealty.
  • Three sumptuous removes will be served, each more decadent than the last.
  • Court shall close the day… but only after misrule has had its reign.

Masks are encouraged. Mystery is celebrated. And all must be gone before the witching hour.
