Peerages

The Strength and Stability of the Kingdom lie in these virtues of its people:
Service, Creativity and Chivalry, for if any of these are lacking the Kingdom fails.

Order of the Chivalry
The Knights of the Kingdom defend it with Valour and Honour, and protect its people from Violence.
The Right Noble Order of Chivalry of Lochac is the Peerage Order for excellence in armoured combat in the Kingdom of Lochac
Candidates invited to join the Order may choose to join as one of two kinds of members: Knights, who swear perpetual fealty to the Crown and Kingdom on their elevation, and Masters/Mistresses of Arms, who do not. Members of the Order are usually summoned in court to reaffirm their vow to each new Crown. So far, all members of the Lochac order have been created Knights (KSCA).

Order of the Laurel
The Order of the Laurel is one of the Peerages, equal in standing with the Knights, Pelicans, and Royal Peers. It is the highest award given in the SCA for excellence in the Arts and Sciences. Laurels attempt to inspire others to create beautiful and authentic works by teaching and example. For more information on Laurels’ duties, see What Do Laurels Do?

Order of the Pelican
The Order of the Pelican is given for extraordinary service to the Kingdom, far and beyond that given by most members. Peers must also support the Crown and kingdom, display courteous and noble behaviour, share their knowledge and skills with others, practice hospitality according to their means, and those skills and behaviours appropriate to the court. The token is a medallion depicting a pelican in its piety. Pelicans in fealty may wear a chain.
